I started my digital career as a Social Media Manager. Nowadays, I mostly consider myself a Content Creator. I want to create content with value and I share knowledge regarding the creation of content for Social Media purposes.
Of course, as a content Creator I am not as easily found as when I was writing about Social Media Marketing. And this is because Content Creation is a more specific niche.
But it doesn’t mean it’s not a promising one. Nor it’s not profitable. It’s important to know where to target and check if there are people looking for this service.
I have always had as a top priority to offer value to the community that chooses to follow me. And I always wondered if what I share indeed offers value. After many years in the content creation world, I think I know what creating content with value really means.
Creating content with value: how to achieve this
I was trying hard to find the most amazing, not very well known Social Media tips to educate my community with. Although this does sound promising, it’s also very demanding and can lead to mental fatigue.
I could find tips I considered outdated but my community had zero knowledge about. If you cannot measure things right, you are missing many opportunities.
The turning point of my career
But, I remember how one day I was reading a great step by step guide about how to do something and I actually started creating it. Additionally, I followed that guy everywhere and I even bought from him. Many times. Bingo! This was a turning point to my whole content approach.
It’s easy to transfer knowledge, but it’s the actual implementation that makes all the difference.
And since then, I try to enrich the content I create with information coming from my own findings. How I managed to achieve X, what I tried and saw by doing Y, the process I followed to get Z results. It’s about things I tried and I share the results with the community.

Value comes from our own findings
So, this is how I know what I offer has value. It’s not because I will write an article explaining how to go viral. It will mean nothing unless I already made 3 pieces of content go viral and I am just sharing the process I follow. Otherwise, I am just sharing ideas I read about somewhere on the web. And people no more need information they can find everywhere.
If you want to spread value, write your own findings. Your own successes and failures. We all have a story; share it. If you are just starting out, you can document your daily life or share stories from people you admire and follow. And state how they impact your life.
People want authenticity. Uniqueness. Not something they already know about.
